About Me
My name is Sebastián Blanco, and I've been working in hospitality since 2003.
I started focusing on online marketing in 2007 — which, in hotel terms, was early. Very early. Back then, a small community of people were figuring this out in real time: Josiah Mackenzie, Adam Hamadache, Albert Barra, and a handful of others who saw where things were heading before most of the industry did. I was lucky to be in that group.
Over the years, I've held positions on both sides of the table — working for hotels and working with them. That dual perspective matters. It means I know what a hotel actually needs, not just what looks good on a marketing brief. And it means I've learned, sometimes the hard way, what doesn't work — and stopped wasting time on it.
I don't have clients. I have friends in the hotel business. People I genuinely want to see succeed. Everything I do comes back to one simple objective: helping independent hotels sell more rooms and services, at the best possible price.
Hotel Marketing Point is where I share what I know — without the padding, without the jargon, and without the conflict of interest that comes from trying to sell you something. Just honest, practical advice for hoteliers who'd rather spend their time running a great property than decoding marketing theory.
If something new comes along that can genuinely give independent hotels an edge, you'll find it here.
